The HP StorageWorks Ultrium 448c Tape Blade is ideal for HP BladeSystem c-Class customers who need a data protection solution but are not connected into a Storage Area Network (SAN). This tape blade provides direct attach data protection for the adjacent server and network backup protection for all data within the enclosure. The HP Ultrium 448c Tape Blade is the first HP StorageWorks tape product developed exclusively for the BladeSystem c-Class enclosures.

With second-generation LTO technology, the HP Ultrium 448c Tape Blade delivers a compressed storage capacity of 400GB on a single data cartridge and a compressed transfer rate of 172GB per hour. This tape blade solution ships standard with HP StorageWorks Data Protector Express Single Server Edition data protection software. In addition, the HP Ultrium 448c Tape Blade supports HP StorageWorks One-Button Disaster Recovery (OBDR), which allows quick recovery of the operating system, applications and data from the latest full backup set. The HP StorageWorks Ultrium 448c Tape Blade offers a complete data protection, disaster recovery and archiving solution for BladeSystem c-Class customers.
