The scalable Sun StorEdge L180 tape library accommodates up to 10 drives and comes in a base configuration of 80 cartridges. A cartridge expansion kit is available to increase the cartridge count to 180. You have a choice of 9840B drive technology for high performance, delivering 19 MB/sec throughput, SDLT 320 drives for 16 MB/sec and 160 GB capacity, or LTO2 drives for 30 MB/sec and 200 GB capacity. Or you can combine drive types for multimedia library capabilities. Either way, you will benefit from ultra-reliable robotics, simple unattended backup capabilities, remote monitoring, and more all in a small footprint library.
