The SUN StorEdge 4mm DAT Unipack & Flexipack provide a single DDS-3 or DDS-4 tape drive with a native capacity of 12Gbytes and compressed capacity of up to 24Gbytes. The 4mm DDS-3/DDS-4 tape drive maintains backward read/write compatibility with DDS-2, DDS-1, and DDS-DC formats, so previous investments in 4mm storage solutions are protected. The DDS-3/DDS-4 drive's Media Recognition System automatically adjusts to the correct tape format.
