The NS500 Series is designed as an entry level NAS system.

NS500 series products support both single and dual Data Mover configurations. Dual Data Mover configurations can be deployed in Primary/Primary mode for performance-oriented environments or Primary/Standby for additional hardware availability configurations.

• Transparent, dynamic failover to a hot standby Data Mover, hardware RAID protection and non-disruptive component replacement
• Control Station (NS500-CS): Redundant connection to each Data Mover via serial and Ethernet 10/100 interface, 6 x Serial ports, 2 x USB ports
• Data Movers: 4 x Ethernet 10/100/1000 BaseT ports, 3 x Fibre Channel, 2 x Serial ports
• NFSv2, NFSv3, CIFS, FTP, NLMv1, NLMv3, NLMv4, NTLM, NDMP, SNMP and LDAP support
