 The HP StorageWorks 9000 Virtual Library System is a multi-node solution that offers industry-leading performance and easily scales in performance and capacity up to 4800 MB/sec and up 1280 TB of useable storage with 2:1 hardware compression. For fast data protection and backup in complex SAN environments, the VLS9000 now supports the licensing of Accelerated deduplication which retains up to 50 times more data readily available on disk. - The VLS9000 supports the licensing of Accelerated deduplication.
- The VLS9000 supports 1 TB disk drives providing a 33% capacity increase in the same footprint.
- The VLS9000 supports twice the number of storage arrays. Previously an 8 node system could only support 8 arrays. This is now increased to a total of 16 arrays (2 arrays per node).
- The VLS9000 will support LTO-4 tape emulation (without encryption) in September 2008.
- Capacity for the VLS9000 has increased to 1280 TB with the combination of 1 TB disk drives and the ability to support 16 arrays per system.
- The VLS9000 supports up to 10,000 slots and 32,000 cartridges (only when using the VLS firmware version 3.0 required for Accelerated deduplication).
