The 5730 is the initial member of a family of planned product releases from Dot Hill aimed at the midrange market. As a key member of Dot Hill's product line which features the R/Evolution Architecture, the 5730 promotes a consistent user experience in both the entry level and midrange markets. This results in a common set of component Field Replaceable Units (disk drives, power supplies), a common Data Management Services infrastructure, a common graphical user interface/operation, and a common data structure. The architecture offers even more value and investment protection to the customer through data-in-place migration. Data-in-place migration allows customers to upgrade from the 2730 storage array to a 5730 storage array by replacing only the RAID controllers and leaving the disk drives in place. This revolutionary approach drives incremental efficiencies throughout the partner and customer base. Double the performance of the 2730 Storage Array at 160,000 IOPS Support for up to 108 attached drives 4 Fibre Channel ports per controller, 8 ports per array Data rates up to 4Gb/sec (Fibre Channel) 12TB base capacity that scales to 108TB EcoStor™ - Environmentally and economically sound - Battery-free cache backup with super capacitors and compact flash - Low latency cache mirroring with SimulCache™ AssuredSnap™ - Built-in snapshot capability AssuredCopy™ - Additional data protection with full volume copies Windows, Linux and UNIX support (Cluster-certified) Redundant, hot swap components Dual or single RAID controller or JBOD RAID 0, 1, 3, 5, 6, 10, 50 RoHS-5 and WEEE compliant Certified to NEBS Level 3 requirements Tested to meet MIL-STD 810F certification requirements for Land, Sea and Air deployment. The 5730 scales to support up to 108 mixed SAS/SATA disk drives, and up to 108 TBs with 1 TB SATA disk drives, yet offers a small footprint (2U) for increased floor-tile density. The 5730 offers enhanced processing power, providing more than 1.6 GB/second read and 1.3 GB/second write throughput and 160,000 IOPS, driving application performance to new levels in a variety of environments. 5730.pdf
