Pillar Axiom Storage systems consist of management software and three hardware building blocks all designed for high availability and reliability:

• Management Software – Pillar's software allows system administrators to allocate storage resources, specify Quality of Service, and define storage automation parameters.
• The Pilot – A single Policy Controller runs the management function.
• The Slammer – Up to four high-performance, high-reliability data movers and managers provide non-stop data access.
• The Brick – Up to 32 Storage Enclosures provide the high-performance storage for the common SAN/NAS storage pool.
