 The SUN E3500 consists of a floor standing pedestal unit that support up to five expansion boards, three power supplies and up to eight FCAL hot plug internal Fibre Channel disks. The Enterprise 3500 requires a minimum of one I/O board and accepts a maximum of four CPU boards. Each CPU board can be fitted with up to two 167Mhz, 250Mhz, 336Mhz, 400Mhz or 464MHz UltraSPARC II processors.

- 2 on-board fibre channel sockets (100 MB/sec full duplex) per SBus and Graphics I/O boards
