The Sun e420r server brings multiprocessing power, UltraSCSI disks, and the industry-standard peripheral component interconnect (PCI) I/O bus to a highly modular, rack optimized 4RU (rack unit) design. The Sun Enterprise 420R server gives customers the flexibility to scale their processing needs without wasting precious space.

  • Up to four 450-MHz UltraSPARC-II CPUs and 4 GB of memory for high performance and expandability
  • UPA crossbar-switch interconnect, PCI local bus, and 40-MB/sec Ultra SCSI disk for maximum throughput
  • Redundant AC power, hot-swap power and disks, and Sun Enterprise SyMON software for remote administration
  • Runs latest Solaris Operating Environment, 100 percent binary compatible with entire server line
  • Solaris PC NetLink software delivers Windows NT services on Sun servers
  • Solaris Easy Access Server provides Sun Directory Services, Solstice DiskSuite, and Solstice Internet Mail Server software
