Sun Fire X4500 is a two way (four core) data server housed in a 4U high chassis. This server is compatible with both Solaris 10 64-bit & Solaris 10, and standard Linux distributions

  • Two dual core AMD Opteron processors model 285, with 1MB level 2 cache per core
  • Up to 16GB of memory (four DIMMs per socket)
  • Up to 48 hot-swappable SATA II internal hard drives (250GB or 500GB drives available)
  • Software RAID enabled by RAID-Z in Solaris ZFS
  • Four 10/100/1000Base-T Ethernet ports, RJ-45 connector
  • Six eight port SATA controllers, internal access only
  • Four USB 2.0 ports (two at the front, two at the rear)
  • Standard VGA port
  • Two internal MD2 low-profile 64-bit PCI-X slots @ 133MHz
  • Solaris 10 64-bit, Solaris 10, standard Linux distribution compatible
  • 4U high chassis

The X4500 supports up to 16GB of memory, and houses up to a staggering 48 hot-swappable internal SATA hard drives, producing a total internal capacity of 2.4TB when utilising 500GB drives.
