The S7000 is a compact next-generation switch/router product designed to meet the requirements for high density 10/40GE, Ethernet/storage convergence, and ability to run multiple applications at the Top of Rack in a Data Center. The S7000 is a building block for both virtualized and non-virtualized data centers designed to address data center 10/40GE/Convergence/Application requirements for High Performance Enterprise and Financial Data Centers, Cloud Computing Data Centers and Provider Hosted Data Centers. The S7000 can be positioned as a Top of Rack (ToR) switch or End of Row (EoR) switch within a Data Center.

  • 1.28 Tbps non-blocking, cut-through switching fabric delivers line-rate performance under full load.
  • Scalable L2 and L3 Ethernet switching with QoS and a full complement of standards-based IPv4 for unicast and multicast applications
  • Intel powered switch and appliance modules
  • Reversible front-to-back or back-to-front airflow
  • Packet buffer memory of 9MB

The product can support 36 ports of 1/10GE, 12 ports of converged Ethernet/Fibre Channel 10GE/1/2/4/8GFC and 4 ports of 40GE. The 40GE ports can be realized as 4x10GE ports through breakout cables. The S7000 supports a full suite of Ethernet switching and Routing protocols in the hardened FTOS operating system to enable either layer 2 or layer 3 network architectures.
